With their backs against the wall in a must win game, the ninth-seeded College of the Sequoias baseball team defeated No. 8 Feather River, 10-5, on Saturday.
With the victory, the Giants captured the best-of-three series, and move on to the NorCal Super Regional.
After an RBI single by COS first baseman Oscar Reyes in the first inning, Feather River scored five unanswered with a two run second inning, and a three run sixth inning.
After Golden Eagles starting pitcher Justin Watland was pulled, the Giants pounced and scored six runs on reliever Keoki Planas in the top of the seventh inning.
With the bases loaded, Wyatt Tilley got the scoring spree started with a walk.
Sequoias would add three runs of insurance in the eighth and ninth inning.
