Bio
Michael Fulford was hired in the Summer of 2025 as the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach for College of the Sequoias.
Prior to joining the COS staff, Fulford worked as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Edison High School (Fresno) from 2022-2025. During his time there, he revitalized a storied program including a top 10 Central Section ranking during his first season and multiple tournament championships. His proudest achievement was an average team GPA of 3.4 and many student-athletes continuing their academic and athletic endeavors at the collegiate level.
Before taking over at Edison, Fulford served as the Associate Head Coach at Reedley College under Head Coach Richard “TJ” Jennings, between 2019-2022 and helped them reach the Top 25 polls for the first time since 2008, including a top 10 Defensive ranking in the state during the 2019-2020 season.
Fulford’s first coaching job came as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Hoover High School between 2012-2019 where he led the rebuilding of a program that included many players going on to play at both collegiate and professional levels.
Following in his (late) father’s footsteps, Fulford currently serves as the Head Coach for the Jalen Green Elite Central Valley 17U AAU program.
Aside from coaching, Fulford serves as a 7th grade PE teacher for the Visalia Unified School District. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Fresno State as well as a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific.
Coach Fulford resides in Fresno with his wife and their two children.
