Bio
Dallas Jensen was hired in the spring of 2019 as the 15th head coach in College of the Sequoias (COS) men’s basketball history.
Since his arrival, he has established COS as one of the premier programs in California. Under his leadership, the Giants have earned six Central Valley Conference Championships, made four Elite Eight appearances, including one Final Four and a State Championship appearance, and Jensen has been named CVC Coach of the Year three times.
During his tenure, Jensen has helped 33 student-athletes transfer to four-year universities, including seven NCAA Division I players, while developing eight 3C2A All-State selections, highlighted by two State Players of the Year — Ryan Johnson (Hanford) and Javohn Garcia. His program is recognized for its balance of athletic excellence and academic achievement, producing graduates who continue to succeed at the next level.
Before joining COS, Jensen compiled a 52-7 record in two seasons as head coach at Gavilan College (2017–19), where he revitalized a program that had endured 17 consecutive losing seasons. His teams captured back-to-back Coast-South Conference titles, earned top-10 state rankings, and Jensen was named Coast-South Coach of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. He helped 11 players earn four-year scholarships and one sign a professional contract during his time with the Rams. Jensen began his coaching career as an assistant for CCCMBCA Hall of Famer Percy Carr at San Jose City College, where the Jaguars finished 25-3 and reached the Northern California Regional Semifinals in his final season.
A former player for Coach Carr at San Jose City College, Jensen completed his playing career and earned his bachelor’s degree at BYU-Hawaii before receiving his Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Administration from Western Kentucky University. He resides in Visalia with his wife, Kim, and their four children.
