Wright Named COS Student-Athlete Success Coordinator
Billy Wright has been named the Student-Athlete Success Coordinator at College of the Sequoias and will begin this fall. Wright replaces Kenny Jackson who left the position to become the full-time Track and Field Coach at COS. Wright comes into the job with a hefty amount of experience.
"Our Student-Athlete Success Program is a part of a larger success program offered here at COS that is focused on academic success of our students." said Athletic Director Brent Davis. "Our athletic department is fortunate that the college supports us the way they do academically with a Student-Athlete Success Coordinator. I am excited for our student-athletes getting to work with Coach Wright."
Billy Wright comes to COS from the Clovis and Fresno area where he has served as a Student Relations Liaison and Intervention Specialist for school districts in those areas. Wright has also earned a master's degree in educational counseling.
"This job is a perfect fit. I love working with student-athletes and helping them achieve their academic goals. College of the Sequoias is a special place. I have known that from my time as a coach at Reedley College and working and coaching in the Fresno area. I am a junior college product myself and know some of the struggles our students face. My job is to help them navigate those issue and help them move forward with their education."
