COS Volleyball Weekly Recap
The Giants Women's Volleyball team had 3 tournaments this past week and are now 3-3 on the season after 6 matches.
In the CCSF Classic on Wednesday, August 29th, in San Francisco, the Giants played their first match against San Francisco, winning 3-0 by line scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-23. Christa Pilgrim and Emily Soto both led the team with 11 kills each while Soto led the team with 14.5 points. Takori Coleman of San Francisco led the team with 15 points.
The next match of the tournament for the Giants was against Alameda College. The Giants dominated 3-0 by line scores of 25-7, 25-13, and 25-11. Pilgrim again led the team with 11 kills while also leading the team with 12.5 points.
The Giants then hosted the COS Crossover tournament on Friday the 31st. Their first match of the day came against Bakersfield and lost 3-0 by line scores of 25-19. 25-10, and 25-20. Emily Soto led the team with 9 kills and 9 points.
The Giants then got back into the winning columnagainst Cuesta College winning 3-0 in close matches 25-23, 25-21, and 25-22. Madison Sousa led the team with 7 kills, 2 blocks, and 9 points. Kaylie Griffin of Cuesta had 11 kills, 3 blocks and 14.5 points.
The Giants final tournament of the week came on the road on Saturday, September 1st in the Hartnell Classic. The Giants lost both matches on the day against Hartnell College and then against American River.
The Women's Volleyball team will take their 3-3 record into Thursday, the 6th with match-ups against Canada College and Los Medanos College at College of San Mareo at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
